Espire 2 basically starts from the same assumptions of its predecessor. In the role of a remote controlled robot, we will have to infiltrate a series of enemy bases to recover objects, eliminate tangos, or discover secret information. To do this we will have a series of gadgets available that immediately bring to mind the aforementioned saga of Hideo Kojima: silenced darts, sleeping pills and diversions of various kinds. But not only that, because we will even be able to place ourselves behind an enemy and verbally order him to surrender, or - even - shoot the lead of our more conventional weapons at will, however losing part of the score at the end of the mission. We are certainly not talking about the freedom of action offered by Metal Gear Solid 5, but Espire 2 does its best to offer a variety of approaches that does not become repetitive even after a few missions, and this must be acknowledged.

To exacerbate this unprecedented ambition, Espire 2 also gives us the possibility of using two different and interchangeable characters throughout the mission. Sinder is the character that we already find in the first chapter: human height, classic weapons, the possibility of eliminating targets more easily. On the other hand we find Sooty, a much smaller robot, capable of hiding in narrow places and who prefers diversion to direct confrontation. All seven missions of the game therefore offer specific paths for one or the other character, which will however always lead to the same result, regardless of one's style of play.
