GRID Legends is an arcade racing game, an adrenaline-pumping racing Babylon for solo racers and pirates of the streets online. The novelty is Driven to Glory, a narrative-based single player portion that in theory should make a difference thanks to its highly spectacular and immersive story. Inspired by the Netflix docu-series Formula 1: Drive to Survive, similar to what Codemasters did in F1 2021 with the Braking Point mode, Driven to Glory offers various races interspersed with cinematic sequences complete with real-life casts and popularity ( as in the case of Sex Education actor Ncuti Gatwa). Despite this, the story of the rise to success of this Pilota 22 - an eyesore of identification - fails to win over the curiosity of those who pay attention to the substance. Extricating itself between clichés and banality, the story mode does not know how to involve due to a script that is not at all brilliant and unattractive characters / dialogues, which reduce the novelty to an additional mode of little relevance.
Luckily, for those who love to run alone, in addition to Driven to Glory there is the Career. Here things get more interesting, as long as you get a structure halfway between the classic and the anachronistic. With over 250 events (Circuit, Time Attack, Drift, Elimination and races with ramps or boosts), 130 tracks of various kinds including novelties such as Moscow and London, the Career allows you to speed aboard 128 racing cars (such as GTs, racing, touring, open wheel, hybrid, electric), unlock different categories to compete in and increasingly difficult events.
